‘Sathya Sai was guiding light during my medical and political career’

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan termed the practice of ‘No Billing’at the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation’s Super Speciality Hospital exemplary and unparalleled.

Participating in the Ladies’ Day programme at Prasanthi Nilayam here in Puttaparthi, as part of the week-long 94th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Governor, a medico by profession, remembered the magic of the guru, which healed her sore throat during her visit.

Recalling that Sathya Sai Baba had been her guide throughout her medical and political career, the Telangana Governor expressed happiness that she was finally able to come to Prasanthi Nilayam on Tuesday. Thousands of patients were getting cured due to his blessings at the hospital, she said.

Ceremonial procession

Ladies’ Day has been celebrated since 1995 when Sathya Sai Baba called for greater women’s participation in social and spiritual revolution. A ceremonial procession from the Yajur Mandiram comprising percussion and university band of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning(SSSIHL) set the tone for the morning celebrations. A veena recital by Shobana Swaminathan, an accomplished AIR artist from Chennai, followed.

Known for her intense faith and devotional practice, Isabella Chu, a permanent judge from Hong Kong, highlighted the present situation in her country.
